Techniques

We offer two possible construction techniques. The post and beam or Scandinavian-inspired techniques.

The post and beamTechnique:

Post and beam constructions consists of a combination of vertical and horizontal. These constructions have as main advantage to be free of settling so it performs similarly to the conventional buildings. It also simplifies any future expansion of the house or adding new quarters. One can also easily make constructions with non-standard forms such as "bay windows" or circular shapes.

Scandinavian-inspired technique :

We say that this technique is inspired by the Scandinavian technique because it has all the features of the latter. This is a horizontal stack of logs that are adjusted to each other and the corners are saddle notch shaped to make them inter-locking. Our logs are milled so as to simplify the assembly while ensuring virtually perfect seal joints. In addition the assembly requires no technical knowledge because the saddle notch corners and the Scandinavian style seats are prefabricated in the workshop. Note that the manufacturer must know that the walls of logs will be subjected to settling during the drying period and must be considered when planning construction. The settling period can last up up to 5 years.
